Sacrifice for Freedom

As our whole Nation sits this week in remembrance and honor of those who died a year ago on 9/11 our hearts sadden once again in disbelief that this actually happened. So many times we take for granted our freedom and ALL the sacrifices that are made for our freedom. It is sad that it takes a National tragedy to bring unity to a country that has been Blessed beyond words.

What is even more sad is that the unity and patriotism only lasts for a little while. Over 2,000 years ago the greatest Sacrifice for Freedom occurred. When Jesus died on a cross for all mankind to have eternal life, freedom from Satan's bondage and a Peace that is ever abounding - what a gift, what an incredible Sacrifice! But just like the unity and patriotism that comes from a National tragedy - our ecstatic witness diminishes after time as well. We have a set Holiday to remember this wonderful Sacrifice called Easter -just like we have a set date to remember our National Tragedy - 9/11.

As a Nation Under God we should forever hold our Freedom in our hearts and minds. We should wake every morning and thank God for the freedom that He has given us as an individual and as a country. We should hold in our hearts the men, women, children, and their families that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for this Nation - their life. And pray and ask God to restore joy, happiness, peace, unity and patriotism to America and every American. As a Nation Under God we need to pray that God will restore our wholesome heritage and give us Godly leaders that we may be a witness to other countries of how Blessed a Nation Under God can be! We shouldn't let the Sacrifices for Freedom be in vain, let everyday be in Remembrance and Honor for all the Sacrifices for Freedom!

Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Ephesians 4:3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
